Delorme inReach – Battery Profiles

In this video, we’ll look at the different battery profiles you can set on your Delorme inReach.

By default, the device takes AA lithium batteries, but you can also use regular alkaline or NiMH batteries. The battery life may not be the same, but you can adjust the power management or battery profile on your inReach by this simple setting.

1. While powered on, HOLD both POWER and MESSAGE buttons.

Now pay attention to the LED flash cycle for the message button. Based on the number of flashes, that will represent which battery type to use.

1 flash LITHIUM
2 flashes ALKALINE
3 flashes NiMH

Make sure you are using the latest firmware. If you happen to reset the device, the default will probably return to LITHIUM.
