Garmin Forerunner 610 – How to Update Firmware

This video tutorial quickly shows you how to update the firmware of your garmin forerunner 610. This process is actually the same for all of Garmin’s wireless devices such as the 405, 410 & 310.

This video shows the upgrade from firmware 2.20 to 2.30

First we go to garmin connect, sometimes, we see an alert that we have a new firmware available. Other times, we can check on my.garmin.com on our dashboard.

We assume that you registered your garmin device.

From there, you need to install the garmin communicator plugin for your browser and you can start your download.

The first part to download from garmin’s servers is easy & quick. The next step, transferring to your device may take up to 15 minutes. It’s important to not touch anything while this happens.

once the firmware has been transferred via the ANT agent, it will load & install the software. This might take 2-3 minutes.

Once complete, the device should reboot and you are ready to use your forerunner
