Garmin GPSMAP 62 – Customizing Profiles

We’ll be looking at profiles on our garmin gpsmap 62. Let’s assume that we do a number of activities with our device, but need to customize the same screen based on activity.

By customizing profiles, we can adjust each screen like map, compass or trip computer page. We can also customize the page sequence.

Start by going to the main menu and select PROFILE CHANGE. Note that you have a number of profiles already created. Note that by pressing menu to CREATE a new profile.

What we’ll do is create a new profile for HIKING and keep GEOCACHING. We can if want DELETE everything else. Note that if you delete, you are able to restore defaults to get these preset profiles back.

From here, you can select a profile and start customizing the screens. You may like to use the map screen differently while hiking or want to use the geocaching dashboard.

By doing a master reset, you can regain the RECREATIONAL profile.
