Ile d’Orléans Monsiegneur D’Esgly

Named after the first Canadian born Catholic Bishop, this is a strong ale, 7.5% extra stout made from fortified barley.

The beer poured BLACK, this has one of the darkest beers we’ve ever tried, even darker than their chocolate vanilla.

Creamy head, the smell is very malty sweet. Mostly toasted flavour, with the faint chocolate taste coming at the end. Very little sweetness to this beer.
