Garmin Forerunner 405 / 410- Auto Lap & Auto Pause

In this video, I will outline the steps required to setup your garmin forerunner 305 for auto lap & auto pause under the training options.

Why Is This Great?

Auto pause is a great feature when you are running steady runs with no walk breaks, but you have either stop lights or other slow down areas that you don’t want to affect your workout details like overall pace.

Auto lap is used when you are not doing interval or advanced workouts, but rather doing steady runs, but you still want to have a breakdown per lap of your performance. Typically we see runners use a set distance like 800m, 1km or 1 mile.

Combine these two options together and you have a great way to enjoy a steady run without bothering about interval or advanced workouts.

The 405 uses zones based on your max HR & resting HR, unlike the 305 – so you might see a difference with the values that up a training zone from the 305 to 405.

You can also use Garmin Training Center to customize your zones & create Advanced workouts.
