What’s A Garmin Adventure?

A Garmin adventure is a package of waypoint, track files, photos, geocaches etc… everything you can assemble in Garmin Basecamp you can package into one file.

Here we are a local park and quickly going over the major aspects of the feature on a GPS MAP 62s. Make sure you update the firmware on your handheld so that support for Adventures is enabled.

Getting Started On The Trail

To get started, lets assume that you transferred an Adventure from Basecamp to your device. Once loaded just hit FIND, SELECT ADVENTURE and choose from the list. The track get hi-lighted and you can use the compass to navigate to the start point. Be aware that if your adventure is a loop track, then it get a bit confusing since it will switch navigation from the start point to the end.

At any point you can move the cursor on the map page and select a POI that is part of the adventure to either navigate to or to get more information about it.

To stop the Adventure, simply hit FIND and STOP NAVIGATION.
