  • Frodo Lives!

    [powerpress]

We reflect on the 80th anniversary of the publishing of the classic book The Hobbit. We talked about when we first read the book, how the Peter Jackson movies nailed it with Lord of the Rings, but kinda whiffed it with The Hobbit trilogy since the book originally came out as a children’s book.

We even bring up briefly the Ralph Bakshi animated version.

  • How Come We Don’t Want To Watch Horror Movies Anymore?

    [powerpress]

After last episode where we talked about the movie IT, we continue the discussion about how we don’t have that urge to watch horror movies anymore as compared to when we were younger.

Both of us were huge horror movie fans and we share some scary movie stories and some of our favorite films such as the Exorcist, The Omen, Evil Dead II, etc…

  • Loving the Stephen King Novels and Classic Movies

    [powerpress]

With Stephen King’s IT is out as a movie, decided to look back at the great novels and movies that made us fans of his work. We don’t overly deep in his writing, but regardless what you think about his work; it’s a great read.

After a summer break, we are back at the podcast schedule. Jocelyn and Keith will either be rotating co-hosts or team team for a three way.

One of my bucket list items is to visit the front of his house in Bangor. My uncle once upon a time had to drop by some computer equipment over to his house in the early 80’s that’s all I got for a cool story.

  • We’re BACK!

After a hiatus the podcast is back! After a nice four year run hosting the Friday Night Hangouts I decided to pull the plug and think about what to do next with the podcast. So after discussion with my peeps, I decided that going back to the roots of Avoiding Chores made sense.

So we’re doing a new format, same players, but fewer of them and shorter. Any question, send them to info@avoidingchores.com

OK, so in this episode we talked about what we were doing before the smartphone age. If you are old enough you will know the trails and tribulations with your candy bar or flip phone.
