the Garmin Forerunner 230 or Forerunner 235 very similar to a Vivoactive but more focused on the runner instead of the general activity type. If you already have a Vivoactive, you probably won’t find the Forerunner 230 an upgrade. The display in sunlight while running is very visible and the five to seven days in between charges is what we’ve come to expect with a Forerunner.
I’m not covering the wrist heart rate monitor found only on the forerunner 235. I’ve focused on common features found on both models.
The fitbit Alta is a more stylish option than the fitbit Charge, not only allowing you to change wrsit band but provides the usual amount of features you’d expect from a daily fitness tracker. In addition to the daily tracking, silent alarms & clock – you have the additional features such as: Reminder To Move; SmartTrack; Call, Text & Calendar Alert Notifications; Sleep Tracking & Tap Display. That’s right, there are no button with this unit.
I’ve been able to squeeze out 7 days of battery life under normal desk job, walking dog, going to the gym 3 times a week & chasing after a toddler lifestyle. You can use your smartphone and unleash the freedom of the fitbit Connect app to sync your data and view the information under it’s very effective dashboards.

What You Can Do Before The Child Is Ready for Running?
Think of your stroller walks as the road to build up your capacity, especially after giving birth. Great tip! The stroller gets heavier every week! You’ll be working on your legs, core, glutes along with your cardio fitness. Might as well add in a stretching routine. Whenever the little bundle of joy is ready for the running stroller, you will be ready with your 5k clinic.
Get Your Go-Bag Ready
Prepare a separate bag for the stroller to contain the essentials. You will be pushing the stroller and you don’t need to haul as much stuff.
Last thing you want is to jettison your outing after getting everything packed up, you’ll have to work around the baby’s schedule to get out for a run.
What Else Do I Need With My Stroller
Depending where you will be running, having in tow a storm and/or bug guard will come in handy. A Storm guard comes in handy during the winter and cold windy days in the spring or fall.
For Winter running, you want to add some insulation, a piece of sheepskin wrapped round the seat will help cut the cold and keep the baby toasty warm.
What Other Piece of Gear Do You Use?
Running Tips
* Pick quiet route
* Pick terrain that matches the stroller wheels
* Don’t Over do it
* Work on your posture
* Keep arms relaxed
* Focus on your foot work while going up hill
* Careful while going down hill – HANG ON TO STROLLER
* Keep at least 1 hand on the stroller

Forerunner 10 / Forerunner 610 Compare
We will do a quick compare review of the forerunner 10 vs forerunner 610.
SIZE- the forerunner 10 has 2 sizes, the green/white is a tad smaller than the black version. Thickness is pretty much the same, but the forerunner 10 is lighter than the 610. So as an everyday watch the forerunner 10 can be worn better than the 610.
BATTERY LIFE- as a watch the forerunner 10 will last up to 5 weeks (so says the manual) and you might squeeze maybe two weeks of activities (6-8 runs) but I think both as comparable when using it regularly for running. You still need to charge it weekly as a habit.
ACCURACY – Surprisingly, the forerunner 10 isn’t bad. I had both watches on my wrist while running for a week and the forerunner 10 was displaying about 10-20m less than the forerunner 610. Satellite acquisition is pretty similar, but the forerunner 10 might be a bit faster in certain situation.
DISPLAY – Forerunner 10 has limited data fields, only 4 of them really. So you don’t have a lot of options while the forerunner 610 can be customized and auto scroll, etc… The backlight on the forerunner 10 is not as good and doesn’t have any of the timeout & alert options you will find on the forerunner 610.
HISTORY – Forerunner 10 is limited to 7 activities, while the forerunner 610 can store a number of months on the device. So you have to make it a habit to upload to garmin connect using the forerunner 10
BOTTOM LINE – Forerunner 10 is for people who want to do 10 & 1 interval workouts and doesn’t want any features, this is the one for you.
Forerunner 610 is for people who want to create custom workouts, Heart Rate training and more.
